“Meet your Maker” featuring on Al Jazeera english

Rebel Geeks is a seven-part series on Al Jazeera English channel, featuring profiles of people around the world challenging power structures and offering a different vision of our technological future.

During Makers Faire in Shenzhen, in southeastern China, the authors of the series met Massimo Banzi and produced‘ Meet Your Maker’, a video interview about Arduino and how thousands of people are adopting it to build everything from 3D printers to drones, smart home devices to robotics.

‘Meet Your Maker’ can be seen on Al Jazeera English from November 16 at 22.30GMT.

At Temboo they’ve just started a new web series and the second episode released last week is a video interview with Arduino co-founder Tom Igoe.
He spoke with Vaughn and Claire about the challenges the Internet of Things poses to designers, the relationship between consumer and industrial IoT applications, some of his favorite Arduino creations, and more.

Many of you were with us last October  in Rome for the European Maker Faire together with more than 500 makers from all over the world! The event was massive and 90 thousands people visited the booths, the workshops and the presentations taking place in those days.

To celebrate the amazing moments we created a series of short videos showcasing the use of Arduino in projects hosted during the Faire. Our crew explored the whole exhibition and talked with a lot of makers presenting a project with Arduino inside. We asked them four simple questions:

  • What have you built?
  • Which problem does your project solve?
  • Why did you use Arduino as a controller
  • How long did it take to make it?
