Introducing Arduino® VENTUNO™ Q: your new AI, robotics, and actuation platform!

We’ve been dropping hints about a new, revolutionary product we’ve been working on, and now we can finally tell you all about it! Ahead of Embedded World our team has announced the upcoming VENTUNO Q, a single-board computer purpose-built for AI, robotics, and actuation.
At the edge of intelligence: where AI takes action
VENTUNO Q leverages a high-performance dual-brain architecture. It includes a Qualcomm Dragonwing™ IQ8 Series processor for advanced AI workloads, with NPU acceleration delivering up to 40 dense TOPS, and a dedicated STM32H5 microcontroller for low-latency actuation and motor control. In addition, it comes with 16 GB RAM to handle concurrent inference and complex multitasking, and an expandable 64 GB of storage. This means it unites high-performance AI compute with deterministic real-time control, enabling systems that don’t just interpret the world – they interact with it.
Bringing real-world intelligence to everyone
“Ventuno” means twenty-one in Italian. The board happens to come out in the year of our 21st anniversary (which we’ll celebrate with you during Arduino Days at the end of this month!), and while it still maintains a connection to the iconic UNO we feel it marks a true coming of age for us. VENTUNO Q is the natural evolution of our mission to make complex technologies simple for all, because it makes advanced robotics and AI accessible to every developer, educator, and innovator.
We designed it specifically to remove barriers on multiple levels.
- It eliminates multi-device complexity by delivering synchronized perception, decision, and action on a single board. The main processor runs Linux Ubuntu or Debian, while the real-time microcontroller runs the Arduino Core on Zephyr OS, ensuring deterministic behavior for time-critical tasks.
- It enables you to build complex AI systems faster than ever, through the seamless Arduino® App Lab environment. In addition to leveraging a unified development experience across Arduino sketches, Python scripts, and AI flows, with VENTUNO Q we are adding a range of advanced ready-to-use AI models powered by Qualcomm® AI Hub and Edge Impulse, including local LLMs, VLMs, ASR (automatic speech recognition), TTS (text to speech), gesture and pose estimation, and object tracking entirely offline. Now that Arduino App Lab is integrated with Edge Impulse Studio, even creating your own custom AI models is more accessible – and we are planning to add support for more AI frameworks soon.
- It’s compatible with hardware from Arduino and third parties: just add Arduino® UNO™ shields and carriers, Arduino® Modulino™ nodes and Qwiic sensors, or even Raspberry Pi Hats, and enjoy one of the most flexible and developer-friendly Edge AI ecosystems ever.
- It can be set up as a single board computer (SBC) or connect to your PC. Choose the experience you prefer, adding a screen, keyboard, and mouse or developing from your desktop computer or laptop. VENTUNO Q is about giving you options, not constraints.
All the advanced features you need to build autonomous AI agents offline
By tightly integrating a real-time microcontroller and an NPU-accelerated processor, VENTUNO Q makes it possible to build machines that perceive, decide, and act – all on a single board. But that’s not all. Its tech specs include WiFi 6, Bluetooth® 5.3 wireless technology, industrial I/Os that include native CAN-FD, PWM, and high-speed GPIO for precise physical control; ROS 2-ready workflows and robotics use cases are baked directly into the platform; and high-speed connectors for multiple MIPI-CSI cameras, advanced audio, displays, and 2.5 Gb Ethernet.
All of this makes VENTUNO Q a powerful and accessible edge AI platform to go from prototyping to production with zero friction. The potential applications span a wide range of fields. Here are just a few examples to spark your imagination:
- In the realm of AI-powered systems, VENTUNO Q enables completely offline voice interfaces powered by local LLM models, allowing developers to build smart systems that operate without cloud dependency. Think of interactive mirrors that respond to gestures, or intelligent kiosks in tourist centers, healthcare facilities, or transport hubs that leverage on-device ASR and TTS to deliver responsive, private, and low-latency experiences directly at the edge.
- In robotics and motion control, it opens the door to advanced perception and autonomy. You can design precise pick-and-place robotic arms guided by real-time vision, build service robots capable of recognizing and following their owners in dynamic environments, or develop fully autonomous platforms that navigate complex spaces using Visual SLAM and path optimization – all while processing critical data locally.
- For edge AI vision and sensing systems, the board supports intelligent, proactive systems that analyze visual data where it is generated. From security systems that detect hazardous behaviors in real time, to traffic monitoring devices that process complex edge data streams, to automated quality inspection systems using local Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to identify minute defects or missing components, it enables scalable and efficient deployment in demanding environments.
- Finally, in education and research, the board serves as a powerful, accessible platform for exploring cutting-edge topics such as computer vision, edge AI, and generative AI models. It allows students, researchers, and innovators to move rapidly from concept to working prototype, making it an ideal tool for experimentation and fast iteration.
These are only starting points. Are you building intelligent machines, connected infrastructure, advanced learning tools, or entirely new categories of products? VENTUNO Q is designed to give you the freedom and performance to turn ambitious ideas into reality, with truly accessible AI.
Arduino VENTUNO Q will be available soon from Arduino Store, as well as via our network of official resellers including Digikey, Farnell, Macfos, Mouser and RS.
