Yep. I google-translated it and got the meaning. I my original reply, I was just building up a surprise ending with a long monolog of "I hate this", which ends surprisingly with applaud. The project carries Arduino spirit. It was just a strange way I responded to the post :)

It just says that the system shows current and average speed on the text display and uses a reed switch with a magnet that works like an interrupt. The switch stays normally open until the magnet, which is on a spoke of the wheel, passes by the reed switch. It keeps track of the elapsed time since the last rotation and can then calculate the speed. Knowing the wheel radius lets it also calculate the distance traveled.

I can't read the language the article was written in but I am presenting this picture to a physics teaching conference anyway. This is the worst-looking bike odometer I have ever seen. I hate the yellow tapes and their sticky residues. The maker(s) of this odometer probably knew that they could buy a decent commercial unit for cheap on ebay but they wasted who knows how many hours of their time and probably got frustrated more than once while doing this project and even bothered to post this ugly picture online to share?! There must be something in this project that money can't buy. You have to be a real arduinoist to know what it is. Good job to whoever made this crap. Carry on!
